Matthew Okerson

Matthew Okerson is the CEO of OGMi Solutions, LLC, a Veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) headquartered in New Braunfels, Texas, provides exceptional services at competitive prices. Our comprehensive offerings encompass health information systems, cyber security and risk management, management consulting services, and information and technology solutions. As a SDVOSB, we are eligible for sole source contracts worth up to $4 million.

Matthew Okerson is a former communications specialist Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army. During his eight years of service, he was deployed to Kosovo and OIF II in Kuwait. During his deployment, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for supporting division sized units with valuable communications during the staging process. He was also awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (6), Army Good Conduct Medal (2) and other campaign medals while on active duty. Matthew sustained right and left knee injuries and was diagnosed with asthma for his exposure to toxic burn pits during his deployment.

After Matthew’s service in the Army, he continued to serve our country by working in Iraq and Afghanistan for the next ten years as a contractor. During that time, he was embedded with the U.S. Special Forces as was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service for his work supporting small satellites for SF Teams to be able to communicate. Other areas of work include, FOB Sadr City, Camp Taji, Camp Victory, Camp Liberty, Bagram Airfield, and the U.S. Embassy, Iraq.

He’s married to his lovely wife Frances and has a 15-year-old son. His hobbies include going to the gun range, motorcycle rides through the hill country, and gardening. He also volunteers in his community as an election clerk and run his own government contracting business.
